A frankly staggering statistic surrounding Timo Werner’s goalscoring efforts in the colours of Chelsea has surfaced on Saturday afternoon.

Werner’s woes
The scoreline heading into the break, though, would have proven of a considerably more comfortable nature for Chelsea, had it not been for the intervention of VAR.
After Callum Hudson-Odoi’s delivery from the left was nodded home in authoritative fashion by the arriving Timo Werner, the German, on the back of a difficult opening to the campaign, wheeled away in understandable delight.
Celebrations were soon cut short, however, when referee Martin Atkinson was called to the pitch-side monitor, to review a potential foul in the buildup.
