Everton-linked Dumfries flies in for Inter Milan medical
In-demand PSV Eindhoven star Denzel Dumfries is on the verge of linking up with Serie A heavyweights Inter Milan.
The name of right-back Dumfries was of course cast into the spotlight earlier this summer.
This came amid the 25-year-old’s sterling efforts on the international stage.
Dumfries took his place as the starting right-wing back for the Netherlands at Euro 2020, and quickly went about showcasing the kind of ability which regular viewers of the Eredivisie long knew him to be in possession of.
The Dutchman lit up his nation’s right flank, notching goals versus both Ukraine and Austria, amid a stretch of four hugely impressive displays en route to the competition’s Last-16.

Such, form, in turn, was always likely to result in something of a tricky situation for PSV to navigate, though.
With quality right-backs at something of a premium across the continent, it came as little surprise when a host of clubs – chiefly Premier League outfit Everton – were tipped to launch an assault for Dumfries, on the back of the Netherlands’ Euro 2020 campaign coming to a close.
San Siro switch
And, as outlined above, on Thursday, one such club appear to have struck gold.
Unfortunately for those of an Everton persuasion, however, it is not Goodison Park where the gifted wing-back looks set to be plying his trade next term.
Instead, Dumfries is primed to link up with Inter Milan.
As revealed by transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, the 25-year-old has arrived in Milan to complete his move to the Nerazzurri for a fee of €12.5 million plus add-ons.
Dumfries will act as a direct replacement for Achraf Hakimi at the San Siro, after the Moroccan departed for French giants Paris Saint-Germain earlier this summer.
