Everton explain absences of Richarlison & Pickford vs Aston Villa

 

An explanation for the absences of a key trio of Everton stars from the club’s matchday squad to face Aston Villa this evening has been forthcoming online.

Rafael Benitez’s men are of course set to return to action shortly.

The Toffees have made the trip to Villa Park for a Premier League meeting with Dean Smith’s Villans, aiming to keep alive a fine spell of form to start the season.

Ahead of the latest round of action getting underway, Everton sat joint-top of the English top-flight table, having clinched an impressive 10 points from an available 12.

The latest of the Blues’ victories came this past Monday night, when an explosive 2nd-half comeback ultimately culminated in a 3-1 downing of Burnley at Goodison Park.

As outlined above, though, the hopes of Rafael Benitez’s men of making it four victories from five this evening were dealt a considerable blow ahead of kick-off.

This came upon the club’s matchday squad to face Villa being unveiled online, with a trio of key performers – in the form of Richarlison, Jordan Pickford and Seamus Coleman – having been nowhere to be seen.

Such absences have only served to compound the personnel woes at Everton, with star man Dominic Calvert-Lewin of course also on the treatment table at present:

In turn, attentions on Saturday have since swiftly turned to why exactly the aforementioned Toffees trio were not called up by Rafael Benitez.
