Eduardo Camavinga provides touching gesture for Rennes staff after Real Madrid move

It is always difficult to say goodbye when you’re a young footballer beginning a new chapter of your career, but Eduardo Camavinga has made sure to show his appreciation to everyone that helped him along his way.

The highly-touted French international finally completed a high-profile move away from Brittany-based outfit Stade Rennais when he signed on the dotted line with global giants Real Madrid, putting to rest a host of interest from Europe’s elite clubs this summer.

In what was a touching gesture, Camavinga sent 166 shirts to the entire staff of his now-former club in a show of appreciation after the player graduated from the club’s academy system before going on to make 88-appearances for the first team despite still being just 18-years-old.

Great expectations in another talented generation

With his move to a top club now complete, there will forever be a constant microscope on Camavinga as he now must work to find his footing at Real Madrid.

“Playing for Real Madrid has been my dream since I was a child. I am looking forward to going to the Bernabeu and taking my first steps in Madrid after the international break. Players like Modric, Casemiro, Kroos, they’re really great players, and to be able to learn from them and train with them every day will be really cool. I can’t wait.” [quotes from CANAL+Sport via MadridZone]

Though already capped by the full French national team, Camavinga is currently on international duty with France’s U21 side, in a starlet-studded squad that includes the likes of Amine Gouiri, Maxence Caqueret, Khéphren Thuram, Sofiane Diop, William Saliba, Pierre Kalulu, Benoît Badiashile, and Illan Meslier.

The ability to learn from the likes of Luka Modrić, Toni Kroos, and Casemiro while being under the tutelage of Carlo Ancelotti presents a tutoring program that will undoubtedly push the French wonderkid forward at a rapid rate.
