Edinson Cavani takes to Instagram to confirm his Man United future following Barcelona links
Cavani linked with Barcelona
One of the more interesting stories to emerge from transfer deadline day would surround Edinson Cavani.
After a starring end to the 2020/21 campaign, Man United would sign the Uruguayan on for another year at Old Trafford.
However, this would be before the Red Devils made a move for Cristiano Ronaldo.
With Ronaldo now on their books, all of Mason Greenwood, Anthony Martial, Ronaldo and Cavani are viable no.9 options for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
So, some fans may have expected one of these players to depart now Ronaldo has arrived.
And, earlier today, it did look as though there was a chance that Cavani could be on the way out as it was suggested that FC Barcelona were in advanced negotiations for the former PSG man:

Cavani confirms Man United stay
However, the player himself has since taken to social media to confirm his future.
The forward would share a post on his Instagram story that stated that Cavani will 100 per cent not join Barcelona on deadline day.
When doing so, Cavani added a red circle and muscle emoji, all but confirming a Man United stay:
