Dune: the second part has finished filming, confirms Timothée Chalamet

Dune: Part Two has wrapped filming. In an Instagram post, frontman Timothée Chalamet said, “DUNE 2 WRAPPED (with desert daddy!!),” in which he is seen pictured alongside his father, Marc Chalamet. The highly anticipated sequel began filming in July, with Denis Villeneuve returning as director to helm the second half of Frank Herbert’s original 1965 novel. Dune 2’s release date was recently brought forward two weeks – after Marvel Studios’ Blade vacated the location – and is now set to hit theaters in November next year.

Villeneuve – best known for the critically acclaimed Prisoners and Blade Runner 2049 – did the impossible when he managed to turn Herbert’s dense epic into a digestible format.
