‘Done deal’: Aston Villa to miss out as Tottenham close in on midfielder
Tottenham appear to be closing in on their first signings of the January transfer window.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Rodrigo Bentancur from Juventus to Tottenham is a done deal.
Tottenham have completed an agreement that will see them pay for €19m plus €6m in add-ons for the midfielder. Romano add that Bentancur is joining Spurs together with Dejan Kulusevski.

This news will come as a big blow to Aston Villa, who were linked with a move for the Juventus man earlier this week.
At the time, it was claimed that Villa were facing competition from Ligue 1 outfit Lyon, but, much like Barcelona did to them for Adama Traore, Spurs look to have swooped in at the last minute to steal a move for Bentancur.

Who is Rodrigo Bentancur?
Rodrigo Bentancur would join Juventus in July of 2017 from Boca Juniors.
The now 24-year-old has since featured on 181 occasions for the Turin-based outfit, scoring three and assisting 18 along the way.
Bentancur is a natural central midfielder who should slot nicely into Antonio Conte’s two-man midfield pivot alongside a more defensive option such as Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
With Bentancur now seemingly set to sign for Spurs, you would assume that at least one central midfielder will be departing north London before the window shuts on Monday.
