Does your home have backup power? We want to hear from you.

The system that provides electricity to our homes is becoming less and less reliable. Breakdowns are more frequent and last longer. More extreme weather conditions are likely to aggravate the problem.
As a result, many homeowners are investing in backup power systems. Some bought big generators. Others have installed batteries to store energy generated by rooftop solar panels.
I cover the energy industry for the New York Times. My colleagues and I are trying to better understand the steps Americans take to keep the lights on during power outages.
Please share your stories about the steps you have taken to ensure you and your family have access to electricity during natural disasters and grid issues.
