Disney is adding a ton of ‘Untitled Disney’ movies, including one this year

Save the date: Disney has blocked the calendar until 2028, adding a ton of mystery Marvel films, enigmatic films from Pixar and a ton of “Untitled Disney” films. Disney even announced that one of these mysterious untitled films will be released this year.

The first “Untitled Disney” will hit theaters on December 1, 2023, according to a new schedule sent to the press on Friday. This year marks Disney’s 100th anniversary, so we’ve already been looking forward to the Wish cartoon, The Little Mermaid live-action reboot, the Pixar Elemental animation, the Haunted Mansion theme park spinoff, and IndianaJones (not to mention the Marvel adventures Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Guardians of the Galaxy 3 and Les Merveilles).

Whatever the mystery of the Untitled Disney movie in December, it will face rivals such as Wonka, a sequel to Ghostbusters: Afterlife and DC’s Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

In 2025, Disney will release 12 films in theaters, including the previously announced Fantastic Four and Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, along with two other Marvel films. In 2026, the House of Mouse releases 15 (!) films.

Following the success of Avatar: The Way of the WaterAvatar 3, 4, and 5 land during the 2024, 2026, and 2028 holiday seasons. And the plan is still to release new Star Wars movies in 2025 and 2027, but it’s not clear what those are yet.
