Dinner At Somizi’s Season 2 to be put on hold following theft allegation
Dinner At Somizi’s Season 2 might be put on hold following the incident that happened between him and Hastings Moeng.
Well, it looks like Moeng is not backing down without a fight and he is ready to see the end of this.
According to the statement he shared, Moeng revealed that he sent an email to Somizi and Themba on July 28 2014, proposing a cooking show Dinner Kwa Somizi.
According to the twitter user, he said: “On 28 July 2014, Hastings Moeng proposed DinnerAtSomizis to Somizi & Themba. The description of the show is materially similar to the one now flighted (to the shock of Mr Moeng). See the 2014 email below and decide for yourself.”
He continued: “On 2 September 2016 Hastings Moeng wrote to Legend (the current producer) with a synposis for #DinnerAtSomizis . You can see the treatment synopsis below. And judge for yourself. Why is IP theft so rife in entertainment? Multichoice is being coy despite being shown this.”
Reacting to this, Somizi claimed he did not get any email claiming the mail he sent the letter to was actually his former email and most times, he does not open his mail himself as it is always done by either his PA, road manager, manager and his agency open them.
In Moeng’s words, he wants some acknowledgement for his contribution to the show and also wants to know how much Somizi made for the first season of the show which had just ended.
The publication claims to have seen the seven-page letter which reads in part,
“Your client, MultiChoice, is requested to disclose, in good faith, if any agreements concluded pertaining to the cooking-talk show or is aiming to enter into any agreement thereof, and if our client will be included.
