Despite late win, Leeds star singled out for criticism following Crystal Palace clash
Leeds vs Crystal Palace
Leeds United and Crystal Palace played out a Premier League clash on Tuesday evening.
The Whites headed into the action at Elland Road in desperate need of a win.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side sat just three points above Norwich City, meaning a win for Dean Smith’s side vs Newcastle on Tuesday and a loss for Leeds would have seen the Yorkshire outfit draw level on points with the Canaries.
Luckily for Leeds, Norwich, despite facing a 10-man Newcastle side for over 80 minutes, only left St James’ Park with a point.
And Leeds were handed some luck of their own late in their game this evening.
Tuesday’s game was another uninspiring showing from Leeds, who were only able to scrape a win on the day thanks to a late penalty, which was only earned thanks to a Marc Guehi handball.
Leeds player singled out for criticism
Leeds despite the penalty goal, created very little and the chances they did muster up were squandered by poor finishing.
One man who squandered several chances was Rodrigo. The Spaniard came on for the second 45 and was criticized by fans online for his dismal display:
I can’t believe Rodrigo cost £30m. He’s absolutely rubbish.

Rodrigo …terrible

Rodrigo is an absolute passenger. Another poor sub from Bielsa #lufc

With Rodrigo continuing to struggle, Leeds, who have scored just 13 goals in 14 PL games, will no doubt be pleased to learn Patrick Bamford, their top-scorer from last season, is stepping up his recovery from injury and played for the Peacock’s under-23s on Monday.
