Mbappé outshining Messi & Ronaldo
There was never any doubt surrounding the notion that French international star and Paris Saint-Germain ace Kylian Mbappé is the next in line to become the face of football across the globe when on-pitch rival pair Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo finally call time on their legendary careers.
However, data that was revealed courtesy of Squawka shows that the Paris-born wonderkid has already outshone the dynamic pair by this stage of his career.
According to the data website, Mbappé is streets ahead of both Messi and Ronaldo when it comes to his overall goal tally for club & country by the age of 23, registering a staggering 198-goals across club football and international duty with France.

That figure is nearly double where Ronaldo sat at the same age (102), and nearly sixty more than Messi. Even more shocking is the fact that Mbappé sits just 45-goals behind the combined efforts of the Argentine and Portuguese legends.
And for added flavor, Squawka added the data around Norwegian starlet Erling Haaland after social media requests. His numbers? Equally if not more mind-blowing, to the tune of 137 first-team goals at just 21-years-old.

With Haaland not set to turn 23 until July of 2023, with his otherworldly current rate of return, he could certainly outstrip Mbappé as the two set the stage for another personal rivalry that could easily mirror that of Messi and Ronaldo.
French sensation could still extend his contract with Paris Saint-Germain
It was not long ago that many were preparing for Kylian Mbappé to become the next true Galactico when he seemed destined to move to Spanish giants Real Madrid on a free deal after Paris Saint-Germain dug their heels in and did not buckle under pressure to sell for former AS Monaco starlet.

But PSG director of football Leonardo remains convinced that the French giants still have a chance of extending his contract in the city of lights beyond the current season according to a report in MARCA;
“It’s a complicated situation because we’d like him to stay here forever and we have to respect his position. I think there’s still a good chance he’ll sign a new contract [at PSG]. I believe it’s possible.
People think we say he’s the best because we want him to sign a new deal, but that’s not the case. It’s bigger than what the club wants. At the age of nearly 23, Kylian has got an incredible maturity about him.”
Though rumors of a rift occurring in Paris involving Mbappé, Messi, and Neymar have begun to swirl, the French international star still remains highly valued in the capital as PSG looks to close the gap to the true elite-level clubs on the continent.
