Cristiano Ronaldo to see out Manchester United contract amid approved managerial plans

Manchester United talisman Cristiano Ronaldo could be set to stay for the duration of his contract at Old Trafford after the Portuguese legend has seemingly signed off on plans that the club looks to implement going into the summer and the 2022-23 season.

Ronaldo, who recently became the all-time leading goalscorer in football history when he bagged a hat-trick against Tottenham, has been at odds with interim boss Ralf Rangnick for almost the entirety of their working relationship this season and some postulated that he could look for an exit this summer in conjunction with the club performing far below his lofty expectations.

Now, as reported by Spanish outlet AS via journalist Manu Sainz, Ronaldo is set to come out ahead at United and remain at the club through next season as the Red Devils have begun to look for his replacement.

According to Sainz, Ronaldo “has decided to continue at Old Trafford and trusts in the arrival of a guaranteed coach, while Manchester United considers that they have made a mistake by signing the German.”

This would certainly be the final nail in the coffin for Rangnick at Old Trafford despite United remaining in the hunt for top four, but are certainly far away from where they finished last season under Ole Gunnar Solskjær.

Ronaldo signs off on potential Ten Hag appointment

With current Ajax boss Erik ten Hag being labeled as option whose stock has risen in recent weeks to take the reigns from Ralf Rangnick in the summer, it would appear that Cristiano Ronaldo has signed off on the club’s potential plans to turn to the Dutch tactician as the next headmaster at Old Trafford.

Ajax was just ousted from the Champions League in the round of sixteen at the hands of Portuguese outfit SL Benfica last night, but his track record of success both at home and abroad at the helm of de Godenzonen cannot be understated.

Also mentioned by AS was the notion that despite PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino being favored by many at the club, Ten Hag could present a manager who champions a tactical profile that certainly could suit the club.

Despite the fact that Mauricio Pochettino was running as the main candidate, in recent weeks the name of Erik Ten Hag has gained strength. As reported by The Telegraph, the current Ajax manager is now the clear favorite to take over the job permanently and try to rebuild a broken project. The Mancunian directors would value taking on the Dutch coach, whom they hold in high esteem for his football proposal. A stylebook that could turn United into a dominant team, daring with the ball, and that bears certain similarities to that of Pochettino, now closer to returning to Tottenham.”
