Tottenham 0-Manchester United 3

Saturday evening’s Premier League clash would see Tottenham play host to Manchester United.

The tie was seemingly a make-or-break affair for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his Man United future.

Spurs have not been in great form of late, and a loss to Nuno Espirito Santo’s team would likely have seen the United faithful calling for Solskjaer’s head.

However, when all was said and done at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Man United came away with a resounding 3-0 victory.

The first 45 was a pretty cagey, quality-deprived affair, as United clearly got to grips with a new system.

But, of course, Cristiano Ronaldo would step up to score a stunning volley 39 minutes in:

CR7 then turned provided 64 minutes in as Edinson Cavani made it 2-0:

This was followed by Marcus Rashford coming off the bench to put the final nail in Spurs’ coffin after 86 minutes.

Cristiano Ronaldo speaks out on critics

Following the game, Cristiano Ronaldo has spoken out about criticism.

Man United were of course in the firing line for much of this week after their 5-0 loss to Liverpool.

However, Ronaldo did not seem to be fazed by this, stating post-Tottenham that:

“The criticisms are always there.

“For me, it doesn’t bother me because I have played 18 years of football, so I know that one day [people will say] we are perfect and another day [they will say] we are crap.

“I know that and we have to deal with that, but it’s always better when the people praise you and they are happy with you.

“Sometimes life is like that, sometimes we have to pass through bad moments and we have to change and we changed today.”
