Court grants media permission to record Bushiri, co-accused bail bid proceeding

Court grants media permission to record Bushiri, co-accused bail bid proceedingCourt has granted the media the permission to record the proceedings in the bail application of that of the self-proclaimed prophet Sheperd Bushiri, his wife Mary and their co-accused on Friday.

The couple leaders of the Enlightened Christian Gathering Church are currently facing charges of fraud, money laundering and Contravention of the Prevention of Organised Crime Act to the tune of R102 million.

They were arrested earlier this week.

Their case is currently been heard in the the Pretoria Magistrates Court.

Supporters of the Bushiri’s couple were gathered outside the court this morning to show support for their leader.

Some were seen with placards that read “there is nothing too hard for God”, some others held placards signifying that their leaders were wrongly accused: “Christians have been persecuted for far too long”.

They were also heard singing “there is no one like you our father” outside the court.
