Aston Villa sign Emi Buendia
Aston Villa have been pretty active in the transfer market so far this summer.
One of the first names through the door at Villa Park was Argentine midfielder, Emi Buendia.
Buendia had previously been plying his trade with Norwich City, who he scored 15 and assisted 16 for in the Championship last season.
The 24-year-old is understood to have set Villa Park a club-record fee, which could rise to £38m.
Emi Buendia missed out vs Salernitana & Ollie Watkins picks up knock
However, whilst Villa fans are no doubt eager to see Buendia in Premier League action, there was some concern over the South American on Sunday.
This came due to his absence from a pre-season clash. Villa took on Salernitana on Sunday afternoon and Dean Smith put out a pretty strong squad.
However, Buendia was not in the starting line-up or on the bench:
This is how we line up to face Salernitana.

Villa are now less than a week away from kicking off their Premier League campaign vs Watford on August 14th. So having Buendia completely absent from their final pre-season game will of course of no doubt caused concern from the Villa faithful.
Another blow for Villa came during their win over Salernitana on Sunday.
Ollie Watkins would start the clash alongside new signing Danny Ings. However, Watkins would hobble off during the second 45 with what looked like a knee/thigh issue:
Thankful to #AVFC for letting me into VP this afternoon; A.Young so vocal in second-half; Danny Ings, as expected, looked really sharp. Intrigued to see how Villa’s new-look system will evolve. Watkins hobbling off with knee/thigh issue will be a concern https://t.co/bBrrz4KC5S
