‘Colossal’: Arsenal supporters single one man out as the difference-maker after crucial Wolves win
Fans of an Arsenal persuasion have taken to social media in their absolute numbers on Thursday evening, to sing the praises of defender Gabriel Magalhaes.
Mikel Arteta’s troops of course marked their return to Premier League action a short time ago.
On the back of a near three-week break owing to their early exit from the FA Cup, the Gunners made the trip to Molineux to take on Bruno Lage’s Wolves, desperate for a first victory in five across all competitions.
And, when all was said and done, return to winning ways is precisely what Arsenal managed… just.
A hard-fought 90 minutes was ultimately decided by a solitary goal, courtesy of Gabriel Magalhaes’ close-range finish with 25 minutes on the clock:

The dismissal of Gabriel’s fellow countryman, Gabriel Martinelli, late on, did result in Wolves laying siege to the visitors’ goal, but Arsenal, to their credit, stood firm to clinch a crucial three points amid the club’s ongoing top-4 pursuit.
‘Colossal’
And, as alluded to above, on the back of the full-time whistle sounding at Molineux, one member of the Gunners’ backline has since been singled out for widespread praise.
The player in question? Stopper Gabriel.
Match-winning goal aside, Arsenal’s Brazilian stalwart barely put a foot wrong all night at the back, marshalling the away side’s defence with equal grit and composure.
In turn, after seeing his performance recognised by the crew at BT Sport courtesy of the Man of the Match award, supporters have since swiftly followed, with just some of the highlights from across social media showcased below:

some of the recruitment in recent years has been questionable but what an absolutely brilliant signing Gabriel has been. Easily one of the best CB’s in the League now. Monster.
