Club owner confirms Arsenal bid for star forward and sets out transfer demands
Arsenal are interested in Romanian striker, Iasnis Stoica, who has been likened to Kylian Mbappe of late.
The Romanian Kylian Mbappe
As 101 reported last week, there is a new striking option for Arsenal, in the form of Romanian teenager Ianis Stoica, who currently plies his trade for Fotbal Club FCSB in his home country.
As per Romanian news outlet playsport the Gunners have been scouting the FCSB man for three months, and are looking to shell out for the man Football.London dub as the “Romanian Kylian Mbappe”.
Valued at £450,000 by transfermarkt, Stoica has provided 4 goals and 2 assists in 473 minutes of Romanian top-flight football, and scored twice on his only outing in the Romanian cup to date.
Arsenal are known to be in the market for a striker, but with young stars Gabriel Martinelli and Folarin Balogun already at the club, it was thought that it would be someone more experienced who came through the London Colney doors, with Dusan Vlahovic a previous target.
Bid for Stoica confirmed
Now as per Romanian outlet AS, the Gunners have even gone as far as to table a bid, something confirmed by the club’s owner.
Speaking to the news site, owner Gigi Becali revealed:
“I currently have 7.5 million euros (no offer) for Ianis Stoica.”
Asked by the reporter whether it was from Arsenal, Becali confirmed it was, before outlining how much it would cost to separate Stoica from the club, claiming:
“Yes! And I want 10 million plus 20% (from any future transfer)”
Now, it remains to be seen just how much Arsenal want to get any potential deal done, but it is clear that the Romanian side have their demands.
