Citroën India and Jio-Bp team up to facilitate electric vehicle infrastructure and services

Citroën India on Friday announced a strategic partnership with Jio-Bp, a fuels and mobility joint venture between Reliance Industries (RIL) and bp, to build electric vehicle infrastructure and services across its network.

“Jio-Bp will install DC fast chargers in Citroën’s dealer network and key workshops across the country in phases,” Jio-Bp and Citroen India said in a joint statement.

These chargers will also be open to the entire universe of electric car customers to help drive consumer adoption of electric vehicles, according to the release.

With the launch of the all-electric New Citroën e-C3 scheduled for the first quarter of 2023, the JV said the partnership would ensure that Jio-bp’s charging infrastructure network is accessible via the My Citroen Connect app.

Jio-Bp currently operates a growing network of electric vehicle charging and swapping stations under the Jio-Bp pulse brand.

The entire range of Jio-Bp pulse offers can be accessed through its mobile app which helps customers easily locate nearby electric vehicle charging stations and facilitates digital payments, among other things, the statement said.

Driven by the vision to be among the largest EV charging networks in India, Jio-Bp said it is creating an e-mobility ecosystem that will benefit stakeholders across the EV value chain and that it was expanding its Jio-bp pulse-branded EV charging network by implementing multi-touchpoint facility charging in cities and major highways to ensure seamless intra-city and inter-city travel for owners of electric vehicles.

Operating under the Jio-Bp brand, Reliance BP Mobility (RBML) is an Indian fuels and mobility joint venture between Reliance Industries (RIL) and bp. RBML provides advanced mobility solutions and alternative fueling options to its customers, such as electric vehicle (EV) charging stations and battery swapping stations (BSS).
