West Ham vs Chelsea

Saturday’s early Premier League kick-off is currently playing out in east London.

Said tie sees West Ham United playing host to city rivals, Chelsea.

Chelsea headed into the game looking to continue their fine start to the campaign, which sees them sitting pretty atop of the Premier League having lost just one league game all season so far.

But, with Liverpool and Manchester City breathing down their necks, Thomas Tuchel and co. could not really afford to drop any points against David Moyes’ men on Saturday.

Thiago Silva labelled GOAT

West Ham, though, clearly set up with their main goal simply not to lose.

The Hammers switched to a back-five for the tie and were very conservative in their attacking play during the opening half-hour or so, making it very hard for Chelsea to carve out any sort of proper chances.

However, Chelsea eventually broke the deadlock after 28 minutes with another set-piece goal.

Thiago Silva rose above Michail Antonio to head Mason Mount’s cross into the Hammers’ net.

Moments later, Thiago Silva came up trumps for Chelsea at the other end, clearing a goal-bound effort from Vladimir Coufal.

After a superb showing from Thiago Silva in the first 45 on Saturday, the defender has received a lot of praise online.

Many of the comments, with just some shown below, have dubbed the Brazilian the GOAT (Greatest of all time), for his actions vs West Ham:
