And now, Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on the situation on Saturday.
Roman reports that the Londoners are confident of completing a deal for Lukaku in the next few days with a final bid set to be submitted.
Inter are only believed to want money and no players, with new contacts scheduled this weekend:

Kounde deal on hold?
Before the Lukaku links began to ramp up, Chelsea did look to be closing in on a move for Sevilla defender, Jules Kounde.
Personal terms were even said to have been agreed back on July 27th:
EXCL. Jules Koundé deal update: Chelsea are in advanced talks with Sevilla and Kurt Zouma could be included in the negotiation. Possible swap deal to go through in the next hours/days with Zouma + money for Koundé to Chelsea. 🔵 #CFC

However, we have since seen little more fresh news forthcoming on the situation.
But Sport Witness, citing Spanish outlet Sport, have now provided an update on Chelsea’s move for Kounde.
They explain that Chelsea wanted to sign Kounde by offering Kurt Zouma or Emerson Palmieri as part of a deal but were unsuccessful.
They add that Chelsea now have new concerns and have ‘left Kounde’s operation in the background’ and are instead prioritising Lukaku’s move.
Southampton want Abraham
Finally, another Premier League side are showing an interest in Tammy Abraham.
Arsenal were linked with a move for the hitman last month.
But now, the Evening Standard report that Southampton have joined the race for Abraham after selling Danny Ings to Aston Villa.
