The agent of Colombian talent Emerson Rodriguez has, this weekend, confirmed that his client is being ‘watched’ by Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester City.
Lukaku & Grealish secured
By their respective standards, it of course proved a largely quiet summer when it came incomings at Chelsea and City.
The former opted to splash the cash on just Romelu Lukaku, though a last-gasp loan swoop for Atletico Madrid’s Saul Niguez could also prove itself to be an inspired piece of business.
Over on the blue half of Manchester, meanwhile, there was too just one considerable financial outlay.
After seeing their efforts to lure Harry Kane to the club fall flat, City were forced to take solace in the record-breaking addition of Aston Villa talisman Jack Grealish.
As outlined above, though, if the latest quotes spreading across the media this weekend are anything to go by, then the respective boards at both Stamford Bridge and the Etihad already appear to have one eye on potential future additions.
This comes with both clubs said to be keeping a close eye on Emerson Rodriguez.
21-year-old winger Rodriguez is currently plying his trade in his home country of Colombia, making a name for himself on the back of a series of impressive displays for Millonarios.
And, evidently such form has caught the eye of those across the pond in Europe.
Speaking in an interview with Fiorentina.it, Diego Carannante, Rodriguez’s representative, discussed the futures of both the attacker and Genk defender Daniel Munoz, who was tipped for a potential Serie A switch during the summer:
‘In addition to Munoz, if we talk about the right-hand side, I would propose to Fiorentina the profile of Andres Roman of Millonarios, also called up by the Colombian national team and six months ago was one step away from Boca Juniors.’
‘As a winger I would recommend Emerson Rodriguez Rivaldo, a Colombian born in 2001, also owned by Millonarios and already watched by City and Chelsea.’
