Chelsea handed timely double boost ahead of Liverpool showdown
Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea have, on Friday, been afforded an altogether timely double boost on the personnel front.

The European champions are of course primed to play their part in the marquee fixture of the upcoming Premier League gameweek.
Amid an alarming spell of form of late, Chelsea will welcome Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool to Stamford Bridge, eyeing a swift return to winning ways on the back of a 1-1 stalemate with Brighton & Hove Albion last time out.
Liverpool, though, will of course prove no pushovers.
The Merseyside giants are expected to come out all guns blazing on Sunday evening, aware that the fixture marks not only a key one in the race for the title, but also their last for some time with the talents of AFCON-bound pair Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane at the club’s disposal.

Silva returns
As such, it goes without saying that Thomas Tuchel will no doubt be keen to have as many of his key performers as possible fit and available to feature from the off in 48 hours’ time.
And, as alluded to above, if the latest images stemming from the club’s training ground are anything to go by, then Chelsea look set to be boosted by the respective returns of two star members of Tuchel’s ranks against Liverpool.
The players in question? Timo Werner and Thiago Silva.
As confirmed by the reliable Sam Inkersole of football.london, Werner, fresh off the back of a bout of Covid-19, was spotted in full training at Cobham on Friday.
And joining the German was veteran defender Thiago Silva, who was forced to sit out versus Brighton in midweek owing to a hamstring issue.
