Chelsea defender provides personal injury update
Ben Chilwell: Season over
Ben Chilwell suffered a season ending injury in Chelsea’s Champions League clash with Juventus last month.
Tearing his ACL against the Turin outfit, it was hoped that he could return sooner rather than later, as the club put off sending him for surgery. And, it looked to have worked, with Chilwell back on the grass earlier in December.

However, the club have since agreed with the player to undergo the required surgery, meaning that the former Leicester City man is now set to be out for the remainder of the Premier League season.
Chilwell issues injury update
Now, Ben Chilwell has taken it into his own hands to issue an update on his injury situation.
Writing on social media, the England defender said:
Hi guys. Just wanted to let everyone know that the operation yesterday was successful. I feel very positive & motivated to work like a beast to get back on the pitch with my boys soon and help this great club win more trophies. Thank you all for the support and nice messages

Chelsea fans will be hoping that Chilwell can return to his best sooner rather than later, with the Blues severely depleted already in the wide areas, and knowing that they have probably let the title slip away from them this season.
Next season, however, could be a different story altogether.
