Premier League giants Chelsea have, on Saturday evening, been dealt an altogether concerning blow on the personnel front, during the club’s showdown with Palmeiras.

Thomas Tuchel’s troops are of course currently locked in action in Abu Dhabi.

After getting the better of Saudi outfit Al-Hilal during the week, the Blues have been tasked with doing likewise against Brazilian heavyweights Palmeiras, to add to their ever-growing silverware cabinet courtesy of the 2022 Club World Cup title.

Such hopes, however, were hit hard late in the first-half of action at The Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium.

This comes after star midfielder Mason Mount was forced to limp out of proceedings, owing to what appeared to be a hamstring issue.

The English international was replaced by wide-man Christian Pulisic in Chelsea’s line-up, ahead of an anxious wait for all associated with the European champions to discover the extent of Mount’s injury.

Turning attentions towards the action itself in the UAE, on the back of the half-time whistle sounding a short time ago, the scoreline remains locked at 0-0 between Chelsea and Palmeiras.

It is the former who have unsurprisingly dominated when it comes to possession, but clear-cut chances, for the most part, have proven few and far between.

Thomas Tuchel, in turn, will no doubt hope for his side to not only come through the remainder of proceedings on Saturday evening unscathed, but also to step up their performance, as the Pensioners continue their push for the title of world football’s finest club outfit.
