ChatGPT temporarily banned on Stack Overflow because the chatbot was giving incorrect answers

Stack Overflow, the coding and programming Q&A site, has temporarily banned the AI-powered chatbot ChatGPT. The site claims that the AI posted wrong answers and that it could be “substantially detrimental” to the site and its users. The number of correct answers created by ChatGPT is very low. And therefore, it was temporarily banned. ChatGPT is a chatbot designed to answer questions in a conversational way. These AIs can answer questions related to cooking recipes, coding tips, and more.
According to a Stack overflow post, the ban is temporary and a final decision would be made in the future after consultation with its community. He says ChatGPT produces a high rate of incorrect answers. However, the problem is that the answers seem to be good and correct, but upon closer inspection, they appear to be incorrect.
The site wants to reduce the volume of these messages and therefore the use of ChatGPT to create messages is not allowed. The website also said it imposed penalties on users who may have used ChatGPT to create messages after the temporary ban took effect. He said: “If a user is suspected of having used ChatGPT after the posting of this temporary policy, penalties will be imposed to prevent users from continuing to post this content, even if the posts would otherwise be acceptable.”
Several users seem happy with the decision and took to the comments section of the Stack Overflow post to share their views.
Meanwhile, San Francisco-based OpenAI made the ChatGPT chatbot available to the public for free for testing on Nov. 30. And within a week, more than a million users had tried to make the tool speak. It could be used in digital marketing, creating online content, answering customer service questions, or even to help debug code.
