Pei confirms that Nothing is “in discussions with some carriers in the US to potentially launch a future product there”, and while he hasn’t confirmed if it’s a smartphone, that’s strongly involved in competition discussions with Apple among Gen Z users in the United States. “There’s a challenge with Android where iOS is becoming more and more dominant,” says Pei. “They have a very strong connection with iMessage, with AirDrop, especially among Gen Z. So that’s a growing concern for me.”

Pei says, “It’s definitely a market where there’s already a lot of interest in our products. And if we launched our smartphones there, I’m sure we could achieve significant growth. Meanwhile, Nothing expects its revenue to be significantly higher in 2022 – from around $20 million in 2021 to $250 million in 2022. Nothing has also doubled the number of employees to now reach more of 400.
