Camavinga joins David Beckham in exclusive club after netting on Real Madrid debut

Real Madrid summer signing Eduardo Camavinga has this evening etched his name into the history books of his new club, after finding the net versus Celta Vigo.

Benzema at the treble

Carlo Ancelotti’s men were back in La Liga action a short time ago.

Los Blancos, after securing seven points from an available nine across their opening three outings of the new season, welcomed Celta to the Bernabeu, aiming to keep pace with joint table-toppers Valencia and Atletico Madrid.

And, when all was said and done on Sunday night, this is precisely what Real managed.

A pulsating outing, during which the hosts twice fell behind, eventually saw Ancelotti and co. emerge on the right side of a 5-2 scoreline.

Karim Benzema proved the star of the show, proving his credentials as one of world football’s finest hitmen for the umpteenth occasion courtesy of a fine hat-trick:

Vinicius Jr. was also on target for Real, whilst Santi Mina and Franco Cervi notched for Celta Vigo.

Illustrious company

As outlined above, though, despite Benzema’s treble, it was in fact another of Los Merengues’ stars who stole the show at the Bernabeu on Sunday evening.

The player in question? Eduardo Camavinga.

French midfielder Camavinga – long viewed as one of European football’s finest up and coming talents – of course made the move to the Spanish capital late in the summer window, from long-time club Stade Rennais.

And, up against Celta, the teen wasted little time in showcasing exactly why the board at the Bernabeu sanctioned a big-money swoop for his signature.

Remarkably, just six minutes after being introduced off the bench in the 2nd-half, Camavinga netted his debut goal, slotting home on the rebound after Luka Modric’s initial effort was kept out:

In the process of opening his account in Real’s colours, meanwhile, the La Liga giants’ latest recruit also etched his name into the history books of the club.

As revealed by statistician Mister Chip, Camavinga tonight became the 6th-fastest player to ever find the net on their debut for Los Blancos.

A number of noteworthy names feature just in front of the Frenchman on the list, including current teammate and Brazilian sensation Rodrygo (95 seconds), and English icon David Beckham (124 seconds):
