Call of Duty: Warzone, Vanguard Season 2 kicks off February 14: Everything you need to know

Call of Duty: Vanguard’s and Call of Duty: Warzone’s Season Two will debut on February 14, Activision announced Tuesday. The upcoming season is expected to introduce armored vehicles along with new features such as Nebula V ammo and bombs, balloon redeployment, and more. Players will also be able to explore new points of interest such as the Chemical Plant and underground Chemical Weapons Research Labs while defeating Axis soldiers for rewards. Call of Duty: Vanguard will also add wonderful new maps and powerful new weapons to the popular shooter.

According to Activision, the second season of Call of Duty: Vanguard (Review) and Call of Duty: Warzone will be available on February 14. Players will be able to download Call of Duty: Vanguard on February 10 at 9am PT / 10:30pm IST, while Call of Duty: Warzone will be available to download on February 14 at 9am PT / 10:30pm IST. The games will also grant players double XP once updates go live, according to the publisher.

Call of Duty: Vanguard Season 2 — What’s New

Call of Duty: Vanguard Season 2 is set to feature two new multiplayer maps – Casablanca, set in the streets of Morocco, and Gondola, a three-lane map above a large ravine and a watchtower. The update will also bring the new Ranked play mode that will launch in beta next week, with league-approved rules, visible skill ratings, and new rewards. The publisher will reveal more information about Call of Duty: Vanguard’s multiplayer ranked game mode on February 11.

Meanwhile, Call of Duty: Vanguard will also add a new Ball Turret Gunner perk that can be activated after achieving a 12-game winning streak, as well as an Armory perk and a Mechanic perk, while introducing a new throwable Sticky Bomb . The game will also feature new ballistic weapons, melee tools, and energy-based magic weapons like the Ray Gun and Decimator Shield. The update will include love war machines as well as motorcycles, squad transports, and tanks that are set to arrive in Call of Duty: Vanguard Season 2.

The game will also add a new hub map and arenas with Terra Maledicta – a new Zombies game mode with new locations, allies, and enemies, coming to Call of Duty: Vanguard. Protagonist Krafft and company will battle Von List in the Egyptian Eastern Desert. New arenas will be added as part of the update, and players will fight to earn a lost Tome of Rituals page, after battling Von List in the Dark Aether. Aided by Vercanna the Last, who seeks revenge on Kortifex, Krafft and his allies will battle the undead while battling a new enemy, Zaballa the Deceiver.

The second season of Call of Duty: Vanguard and Call of Duty: Warzone will feature SOTF Yeti 007, Anna Drake (at launch), Thomas Bolt (in season), and Gustavo Dos Santos (in season) as part of the Battle Pass. Players will also have access to the KG M40: Assault Rifle (at launch) Whitley: LMG (at launch), Armaguerra 43: SMG, and a new Ice Ax (in season) according to Activision.

Call of Duty: Warzone Season 2 — What’s New

Meanwhile, Call of Duty: Warzone will feature Nebula V ammo and bombs, which can be found around the battle royale map, Caldera. Operators downed with Nebula V rounds will emit a cloud of poisonous gas, and those who attempt to revive them will suffer coughing, blurred vision, and slight damage over time. Nebula V bombs are rare, last two minutes, and can be found in briefcases that must be activated to explode after a countdown. Operators within the radius of the bomb will take damage if they don’t have a gas mask or are not near the new Portable Decontamination Station.

As part of the Season 2 update, Armored Transport Trucks will attack nearby players with turrets, mines, and air support. However, destroying these vehicles will yield valuable items, including (in rare cases) an intact Nebula V bomb, according to the publisher. Players will also be able to find these weapons in the chemical plant and underground chemical weapons research labs that are guarded by Axis soldiers in Caldera.

Meanwhile, Operators can also take advantage of Bomber Planes, the second aerial vehicle to be added to the game, as well as Redeploy Balloons which allow players to fly off to reposition themselves thousands of feet away, using a zipline up to to the balloon and deploying their parachute. These balloons can be destroyed and re-inflated by players.

Finally, Call of Duty: Warzone will also feature two new limited-time game modes – Caldera Clash which is an evolution of Clash on Verdansk ’84 and Warzone Rumble, and Rebirth Iron Trials. Caldera Clash will allow players to choose weapons from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare to Vanguard and earn one point for each kill for their team. The team that reaches the target points or has the most points when time runs out will win the round. Rebirth Island Trials will feature battle royale-style gameplay and weapons from Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, aimed at hardcore gamers in the Call of Duty community, according to Activision.
