Brighton & Hove Albion have, on Monday, been dealt an altogether considerable blow on the personnel front.

The player facing up to a spell on the sidelines? Jakub Moder.

For those not aware, midfielder Moder was forced to limp from the field of play this past weekend, during Brighton’s Premier League meeting with Norwich City.

Just five minutes after being introduced off the bench, the Polish international went to ground clutching his knee, after a coming together in midfield.

The 22-year-old was subsequently helped to the pitchside tunnel by two members of the Seagulls’ medical staff, before being lifted onto a stretcher and carried back to the dressing room.

In turn, on Monday, an update on Moder’s wellbeing has been provided.

Unfortunately for all associated with Brighton, however, the Pole, who has appeared in all but two of the club’s Premier League fixtures to this point in the campaign, is facing a lengthy spell on the treatment table.

This comes with manager Graham Potter having confirmed that Moder has suffered a ruptured ACL:

Maupay’s miss proves costly

Moder’s premature departure from proceedings, of course, came en route to what ultimately proved an altogether disappointing result for Brighton on Saturday.

Despite completely dominating bottom of the table Norwich in terms of possession and chances created on their way to an eye-watering 31 shots at goal, the seasiders simply couldn’t conjure up an all-important winner.

Their most glaring opportunity missed came just inside the half-hour mark, when Neal Maupay stepped up to take responsibility of a spot-kick, only to send his ensuing effort several yards clear of the crossbar:
