Black Panther Wakanda Forever: Daniel Kaluuya Won’t Return Due To Scheduling Conflicts With Nope

Daniel Kaluuya will not return for the next Marvel Cinematic Universe film, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

According to Variety, the Get Out actor was asked to star in the film’s second installment, but had already signed on to star in Jordan Peele’s upcoming horror flick, Nope. Due to scheduling conflicts, Kaluuya was unable to be a part of Marvel’s upcoming film.

Directed by Ryan Coogler, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever – which wrapped filming in March – also stars Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke and Angela Bassett, who all return to reshoot their respective roles.

Following the death of Black Panther lead actor Chadwick Boseman in 2020 from cancer, Marvel Studios has announced that it will not be casting any new faces for the role of T’Challa.

The Black Panther The sequel will instead explore other characters from the world of Black Panther, while honoring the legacy left by Boseman.

At Black PantherKaluuya voiced the role of W’Kabi, leader T’Challa’s best friend and confidant.

Released in 2018, Black Panther was critically acclaimed and a commercial success for the MCU. The film received the Oscar for Best Original Score.

Meanwhile, Kaluuya is currently gearing up for the release of Nope, which also stars Keke Palmer and Steven Yeun. Nope is set to release on July 22 in the US and August 19 in India.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever hits theaters worldwide on November 11.
