Bill Seeking To Put An End To Cross-dressing In Nigeria Read Before The House, May Jail Offenders For 6 Months
There is a bill that has been introduced by a Member of the House of Representatives, Umar Muda to disallow crossdressing in Nigeria.
On Tuesday, April 5, the bill which was motioned before the house focuses on prohibiting cross-dressing except for the ones which is being used for entertainment purposes.
The consequences of the passing of the law will see to the imprisonment of defaulters to 6 months in prison.

The bill says;
“A person engaging in cross-dressing is guilty of an offense and liable to imprisonment of 6 months or to a fine of five hundred thousand naira,”
This bill seeks to amend the same-sekz marriage act of 2013 naming cross-dressing as one of the offences will conflict with the likes of Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju fondly called Bobrisky, James Brown, Denrele and others.
This Act jails same-sekz couples and gay people for 14 years if found guilty by the court.
In other news, Angelique Kidjo won her fifth Grammy prize on Sunday, and Bobrisky has slammed those who are criticizing her.
The Grammy for Best Global Music Album was won by the Beninese singer for the fifth time in her 40-year career in 2022.
Kidjo won the Grammy for her album “Mother Nature,” knocking out Femi Kuti and his son Made, WizKid (both from Nigeria), Ghana’s Rocky Dawuni, and Hawaii’s Daniel Ho.

While some enraged fans flocked to Twitter to criticize the singer in the wake of her recent achievement, Bobrisky was unimpressed.
Angelique was hailed and referred to as a legend when she defeated Burna Boy to a Grammy award in 2020, and the crossdresser reacted on Twitter.
He wrote: “when Angelique Kidjo beat Burna Boy, you all praised her and referred to her as a legend. but today you all are using numbers to discredit her?”
