If you’ve been holding a laptop that’s been running out of steam and you know it’s time to buy a new one, now is the perfect time to do so. Lenovo is extending its holiday deals with deep discounts on many of its two-in-one laptops and convertibles, some of which are currently less than half price.
You’ll find the latest ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 10 flagship and the new ThinkPad X13 Gen 3 on sale, but the best of the bunch might be the new ThinkPad T16 if you want a big-screen laptop that provides a roomy 16-inch display. with a high aspect ratio of 16:10 that gives you plenty of room to work. It also includes a processor from Intel’s new processor 12th generation processors (Alder Lake). Lenovo’s ThinkPad T series is right behind the company’s flagship X1 Carbon line in the ThinkPad pecking order. The ThinkPad T14s is a slimmer version of the ThinkPad T14, but not as slim as the flagship ThinkPad X1 Carbon. This AMD based model is more than half with code TPW2CLEAR2023 and includes the new Ryzen 7 Pro 6850U processor, 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD. The 14-inch display has a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, a spacious 16:10 aspect ratio and 300 nit brightness.
This ThinkPad X13 is another ultraportable option for those who can’t afford the X1 Carbon. The most recent addition to the row is collapsed with code THINKJANand features a new 12th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD. The 13.3-inch screen has a 16:10 aspect ratio to provide more vertical space (so less scrolling) with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and a brightness of 300 nits. The webcam goes from 720p to 1080p resolution for enhanced video calling.

The processor is a generation behind AMD’s current Ryzen 6000 series, but it should pack enough punch for general tasks. The 720p webcam resolution lags behind the newer 1080p cameras we’ve seen this year.

The 14-inch, 16:10 display has a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and is designed to a reasonable brightness of 300 nits.

A significant upgrade the 10th Gen X1 Carbon received was a 1080p webcam for clearer Zoom calls and video conferencing. Weighing around 2.5 pounds, the X1 Carbon is an easy travel companion.
