Ben White recognizes fan relationship

Arsenal is one of the hot hands in the Premier League at the moment as Mikel Arteta’s Gunners sit behind only high-flying West Ham in the league form chart while embarking on an eight-match unbeaten run, with summer signing” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener noreferrer”>Ben White

at the very heart of all things positive at the Emirates.

The former Brighton & Hove Albion standout center-back has immediately ingratiated himself to the Arsenal fanbase after what was at first deemed a questionable move from the south coast club in some quarters amongst the Goonersphere.

But the England international has been one of a cadre of shining lights under Arteta this season and credits his growing relationship with Arsenal fans as one of the biggest highlights of his first few months in north London when speaking with;

“It’s been mad to be fair. When I go out I usually get stopped and that’s really nice. It’s great to have that level of support, even when we had the sticky start to the season, to know they are behind you really gives you a lift. After so long of not having them in the stadium as well, it just feels different to have them back. I think you naturally pick up your game more when you have 60,000 people there shouting for you. It’s all positive, having them back.

I’ve played in a few games now for Arsenal, and my mum goes to all the matches. She told me how great the away fans are, and to be fair we hear that as players. She said they are pretty mad, and she hasn’t seen anything like it. It’s great on those away games when you get a win and can go over to the fans afterwards and appreciate their support.”

How key Arsenal man stacks up

Perhaps it does not do enough justice to simply say that Ben White has been a breath of fresh air at Arsenal since his arrival in the summer, nor is it fair to suggest that he single-handedly is responsible for the Gunners’ improvement at the back this season during their credible eight-match unbeaten run.

However, there is no denying his influence alongside partner Gabriel Magalhães as the young pair hair grown together after what was a torrid start to 2021-22 this term for the club.

But how does White stack up to some of the best center-backs in the Premier League thus far this season? In a word; competitively. And for right now, that is more than enough for Arsenal fans.
