Barcelona ‘close agreement’ with Man City star as Guardiola green lights January transfer
Reports rapidly spreading across the Spanish media on Friday evening have pointed towards a shock Barcelona swoop for Manchester City star Ferran Torres inching closer to completion.
Blaugrana concerns
It is of course common knowledge that, ahead of the January transfer window reopening, La Liga giants Barcelona are on the lookout for attacking reinforcements.
New boss Xavi Hernandez has been left with something of a conundrum in the attacking third over his first week in the job at the Camp Nou, owing to a remarkable stretch of bad luck on the personnel front.
As things stand, all of Martin Braithwaite, Sergio Aguero, Ansu Fati and Ousmane Dembele are on the sidelines, owing to respective fitness issues.
Add to this the fact that Antoine Griezmann was allowed to secure a return to Atletico Madrid during the summer, and the woes facing Xavi in the final third become clear for all to see.

Torres incoming?
In turn, it has come as little surprise to see Barca tipped as a potential landing spot for a whole host of attacking stars from across the continent of late.
And, as outlined above, if the latest word stemming from the Spanish media is anything to go by, then one such player’s Camp Nou arrival appears to have taken a considerable step forward.
The attacker in question? Ferran Torres.
First, it was revealed by Mundo Deportivo that Spanish international Torres has informed Pep Guardiola and Manchester City of his desire to secure a return to his home country with Barcelona in January.
Not only that, but MD add that the Citizens boss would not be opposed to such a development, with Guardiola having given his blessing to the move, in the case that a financial agreement can be reached between the two clubs.

The speculation, however, does not end there.
Fellow Spanish outlet Marca have since jumped on the Torres to Barca story, too, going as far as to claim that an agreement is already in place between club and player.
It now remains to be seen whether those in a position of power in Catalunya can coax their counterparts in Manchester into a deal, amid suggestions of a potential loan with obligation to buy.
