Awoniyi Wins Nottingham Forest’s Man Of The Match Award Again

For the second game running Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi was named Nottingham Forest Man of the Match, after his goal earned them a 1-0 win at Southampton in Wednesday’s Premier League game.

Awoniyi was announced the best player on Forest’s Twitter handle, an award he also got in the 1-1 draw against Chelsea few days back.

Awoniyi polled 45 percent of the votes to top a four-man shortlist that include Brennan Johnson, Renan Lodi and Joe Worrall.

Johnson polled 22 per cent while Lodi and Worrall got 21 and 12 percents respectively.

Awoniyi netted the only goal of the game in the 27th minute to secure Forest their first Premier League away win this season.

He now has four goals in 16 league appearances for the newly promoted club this term.

The win against Southampton saw Forest climb out of the relegation zone to 15th position in the league standings.
