Avatar: The Way of Water to Liberate in India in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam
Avatar: The Way of Water – James Cameron’s long-awaited sequel to his hit 2009 film Avatar – is also set to be released in Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu in India. Gadgets 360 has learned that Avatar: The Way of Water will be released in Indian cinemas in six languages, including English. The sci-fi adventure film, which hails from Disney-owned 20th Century Studios, will hit theaters worldwide on December 16. play ahead of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which hits theaters on Friday, May 6.
By 2009, Avatar had hit the big screens in India in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu along with English. Avatar: The Way of Water will be released in two other Indian languages, namely Kannada and Malayalam. Terminator: Dark Fate (2019) was the first film from 20th Century Studios – then Fox Star India – to be released in the aforementioned six languages. Disney started releasing its films in six languages in India with Black Widow.
The title of the sequel to Avatar was revealed to be Avatar: The Way of Water towards the end of April at CinemaCon 2022. Appearing via video, Cameron also unveiled the first trailer for the second Avatar movie at CinemaCon, which will be played ahead Projections of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in the world. The Avatar: The Way of Water trailer will be accompanied by the recent Thor: Love and Thunder trailer, Gadgets 360 can confirm.
Cameron has plotted four Avatar sequels – which will be released alternately beginning with Avatar: The Way of Water, arriving 13 years after the first film which holds the highest-grossing film of all time accolade. After Avatar: The Way of Water on December 16, Disney has scheduled Avatar 3 for December 20, 2024, with Avatar 4 coming on December 18, 2026, and Avatar 5 finally coming on December 22, 2028.
