Ben Woodburn could part ways with Liverpool amidst Hearts interest; misses training
Liverpool could be set to lose Welsh international attacking midfielder Ben Woodburn this summer, with both the player and Scottish club Hearts keen on linking up in a deal before the transfer window slams shut.
🚨 NEW: Hearts manager Robbie Neilson has revealed that Ben Woodburn wants to join the club.
“We are still negotiating with them and trying to get something done. He’s keen to come and we’re keen to get him, but he’s a Liverpool player at the moment.” #awlive [liverpool echo] pic.twitter.com/QNzr45Oyge

Hearts boss Robbie Neilson confirmed the club’s interest in the 21-year-old, while also candidly speaking about the player’s desire to move to Tynecastle Park.
“We are still negotiating with them and trying to get something done. He’s keen to come and we’re keen to get him, but he’s a Liverpool player at the moment. “So we need to wait for them to make a decision. He’s a player we have been watching for a while now and we are trying to get in, but the deal is not done, so we just have to wait and see.”
Woodburn faces a tough ask to truly crack the Liverpool XI, with the Reds having no fewer than eight attacking players ahead of him in the pecking order, and a move to Hearts could be the perfect opportunity for him to progress in his development.
Xherdan Shaqiri also misses training; inches closer to Anfield exit
Swiss international sparkplug Xherdan Shaqiri is all but set to leave Liverpool this summer, with the dynamic attacking midfielder close to a move to Ligue 1 outfit Olympique Lyonnais.

OL are offering €6m with add-ons, Liverpool want more. No agreement yet. Talks ongoing.

Both the Reds and OL remain in talks over a resolution in the fee required for the move to come off without a hitch, according to an update from Fabrizio Romano a week ago.
But his absence from training all but guarantees the likelihood of his exit and an assumptive conclusion to his time in the Premier League. With an overload of attacking players at Anfield, trimming the fat in this area of the squad is required as is slimming down the wage bill from any excess that is not necessary, though, with the club linked with rumored interest in Stade Rennais winger Jeremy Doku, Liverpool could be planning for the long-term picture.
Former Reds goalkeeper Andy Lonergan joins rivals Everton in free deal
Ex-Liverpool keeper Andy Lonergan has done the unthinkable and joined bitter rivals Everton on a short-term contract, reports The Athletic.

Lonergan, now 37-years-old, spent just one year at Anfield between 2019-2020 while failing to make a single appearance for the Reds during that period. He joins Everton as the third-choice keeper in Rafa Benítez’s squad behind Jordan Pickford and fellow veteran Asmir Begovic, who also joined the Toffees in a free transfer.
The Preston-native and former graduate from the hometown sides youth academy has racked up 335-appearances in the Championship during his long career but has yet to make a single appearance in the top flight of English football.
