Asus ROG Fusion II 300, ROG Fusion II 500 Gaming Headphones With Quad DAC, AI Noise Cancellation India Debut

Asus ROG Fusion II 300 and ROG Fusion II 500 were launched in India on Tuesday. The new gaming headphones come with virtual 7.1 surround sound and include high-resolution ESS 9280 Quad DAC technology. Asus headsets also feature beamforming microphones powered by artificial intelligence (AI). To appeal to gamers, ROG Fusion II 300 and Fusion II 500 come with RGB lighting paired with a variety of customization options. ROG Fusion II 500 comes with a dedicated Game Chat volume control and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Both of these features aren’t available on the cheaper ROG Fusion II 300.

Pricing of Asus ROG Fusion II 500 in India has been set at Rs. 22,999. However, details about the pricing of Asus ROG Fusion II 300 have yet to be revealed. Both headsets will be available for purchase in the country in March from Asus authorized stores, partners and major offline stores.

In terms of specifications, the Asus ROG Fusion II 300 and ROG Fusion II 500 are quite similar. The gaming headsets come with the dedicated Quad ESS 9280 DAC amplifiers which are supposed to provide lossless audio processing. Each of the four DACs allocates its processing to a subset of audible frequency range – low, mid, high, and ultra-high – to deliver spatial sound. The company said its distinctive DAC technology provides a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 130 dB. This is higher compared to the 90-100dB SNR offered by a standard DAC.

The ROG Fusion II 300 and ROG Fusion II 500 also come with Asus Essence 50mm drivers which offer a frequency range between 20 and 40,000 Hz. The headsets are also touted to offer virtual 7.1 surround sound using the integrated ROG Hyper-Grounding technology for a “realistic” experience.

Asus has also equipped the AI ​​beamforming microphones with AI noise cancellation. The headsets also have Discord and TeamSpeak certifications which are marketed to help create an acoustic zone to target users’ mouths while filtering and distracting background noise from other directions. Plus, AI noise cancellation technology is claimed to reduce over 500 million types of background noise by up to 90%, including chatter, keyboard clicks, and mouse clicks.

However, the microphones of the headsets are not visible and are hidden underneath.

The headsets feature Aura RGB lighting, and gamers can use over 16.8 million color combinations and six preset lighting effects through Armory Crate software. These effects include Static, Breathing, Strobing, Music, Color Cycle, and Rainbow.

Both headsets in the ROG Fusion II series come with ergonomic ear cups and come with two types of ear cushions: ROG Hybrid Ear Cushions and ROG Protein Leather Ear Cushions.

The gaming headset includes dedicated buttons for turning on and off the built-in microphone and virtual 7.1 surround sound. There’s also a volume controller on one of the earcups.

Additionally, the Asus ROG Fusion II 500 comes with Game Chat volume control which allows gamers to adjust the volume of in-game audio and voice chat using a slider on the ear cups. ROG Fusion II 500 supports USB Type-C, USB-A, and 3.5mm jack connectivity. In contrast, the ROG Fusion II 300 has USB Type-C and USB-A connectivity options and does not include the 3.5mm headphone jack.

The ROG Fusion II 300 and ROG Fusion II 500 weigh 310 grams each.
