‘As many as 11 players’ want to leave Manchester United

‘As many as 11 players’ want to leave Manchester United

Ralf Rangnick’s Manchester United stint

Ralf Rangnick is in charge of Manchester United until the end of the 2021/22 campaign.

So far, the German has taken charge of six outings across all competitions.

In the Champions League, United earned a 1-1 draw with Young Boys, which was enough for them to secure top spot in their group.

In the Premier League, meanwhile, Manchester United had gone four games unbeaten, before losing vs Wolves on Monday evening.

Five games without a loss suggested a decent start to life in Manchester for Rangnick.

However, a little bit more digging showed that was not really the case.

Firstly, vs Wolves, Manchester United lacked desire, energy and created very little, with previously top performers such as Mason Greenwood and Bruno Fernandes looking far from their best.

Before that, meanwhile, Manchester United scrapped 1-0 wins over Crystal Palace and relegation-threatened Norwich, before then only mustering up a 1-1 draw with a Newcastle side who have won just once all season.

Their only somewhat convincing win came against yet another Premier League basement dweller when they beat Burnley 3-1.

11 players want to leave?

So, in reality, given that little has changed at Man United since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer left – barring the toughness of fixtures – it is not too surprising to hear of some unhappiness in Manchester.

The Mirror report that Rangnick is battling to unite the Manchester United dressing-room as he faces up to his first crisis since taking charge.

Cliques are understood to have formed within United’s squad, with Rangnick facing many of the same problems that led to the sacking of Ole.

Perhaps most concerningly, it is added that as many as 11 players want to leave Manchester United:

A source close to the squad claimed as many as 11 players now want to leave the club after becoming disillusioned with life at United.
