‘Arteta has done it again’: Arsenal fans take aim at former shot-stopper amid Aston Villa struggles
Supporters of Premier League giants Arsenal have taken to social media in their numbers on Sunday evening, to take aim at former Gunner Emiliano Martinez.

The subject of goalkeepers has of course taken centre stage on the red half of north London this weekend.
This comes on the back of an Aaron Ramsdale masterclass on Saturday afternoon.
A little over 24 hours ago, Arsenal made the trip to the King Power Stadium, for a daunting showdown with Brendan Rodgers’ in-form Leicester City.
And, when all was said and done, the Gunners’ resurgence only continued, courtesy of an impressive 2-0 victory owing to strikes from Gabriel Magalhaes and Emile Smith Rowe.
On the back of the full-time whistle at the King Power, however, it was not those on the scoresheet who in fact stole the headlines across the English football landscape.
Instead, this honour was reserved for the aforementioned Ramsdale.
Shot-stopper Ramsdale, a widely-maligned summer arrival at the Emirates, continued his remarkable spell of form in between the posts for Mikel Arteta’s men with a string of world-class saves, including an early contender for stop of the season:
Aaron Ramsdale that is insane!
How he kept out this James Maddison free-kick, we will not know! ⛔️

‘Done it again!’
And, as outlined above, 24 hours later, the Gunners faithful have not been at all shy in highlighting the latest efforts of their new no.1 once more.
This comes with Emiliano Martinez, sold to Premier League rivals Aston Villa in the summer of 2020 to essentially set the stage for Ramsdale’s arrival, enjoying a less-than-impressive outing for the Claret and Blue up against West Ham.
The Argentine international, quite the controversial figure himself, was beaten twice from range over the course of the opening 45 minutes at Villa Park, with Arsenal’s supporters, in turn, having been quick to make their feelings known:
Ramsdale making saves he shouldn’t and Martinez missing saves he should this weekend. #Arsenal made a huge upgrade. #TRUSTTHEPROCESS

Emi Martinez has conceded more goals in his last 1 and a half games for Aston Villa (5) than Aaron Ramsdale has conceded in his entire Arsenal career (8 games, 4 goals conceded)!

Arsenal sold Martinez so we could wait for Sheffield United to get relegated and pick up a better GK for just over £20m, Mikel Arteta he’s done it again pic.twitter.com/I8Q0HHtHFk
