Arsenal linked with Vlahovic

Dusan Vlahovic is one of the hottest prospects in European football at present.

The 21-year-old would sign for current club, Fiorentina, back in 2018 for a fee reported to be less than £2m.

After a slow start to life in Italy, Vlahovic has since gone on to enjoy a very solid 18 months with I Viola.

2020/21 would see the Serbian international score a very impressive 21 goals and provide two assists in 37 Serie A outings.

The young hitman has since continued that fine form into the current campaign, where he has scored 10 and assisted one in 13 outings across all competitions.

Such fine form had seemingly piqued the interest of a Premier League club.

That side was believed to be Arsenal, who are likely going to need to new striker next year when Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah’s contracts expire.

Gianluca Di Marzio would credit Arsenal with an interest in Vlahovic last week:

However, reports emerging on Wednesday suggest that Arsenal are not actually interested in Vlahovic right now.

As per Charles Watts of Goal:

My understanding of the situation is there have been no negotiations and he’s not a target. Signing a forward clearly will be high on the agenda next summer, but as it stands he’s not one they are looking at.

If Arsenal are indeed not interested in Vlahovic right now, 101 have picked out five alternatives they could sign instead, which you can read about here.
