Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli responds to Brazil international bow

Arsenal youngster Gabriel Martinelli has taken to social media on Friday, to provide his response to being afforded a first-ever senior cap for his country.

Brazil, of course, returned to action late last night, welcoming Chile to the Maracana for the nation’s latest World Cup qualifying fixture.

And the Selecao, who have long booked their spot at the Qatar showpiece later this year, made clear their dominance once more, en route to an eventual 4-0 rout.

Neymar, Vinicius Jr, Philippe Coutinho and Richarlison were all on target across a dominant 90 minutes on the part of Tite’s troops.

As alluded to above, though, result aside, it proved a particularly special night for one member of the Brazilian setup on Thursday.

The player in question? Gabriel Martinelli.

This came as, with fifteen minutes of action remaining in Rio de Janeiro, Arsenal wide-man Martinelli was introduced off the bench, to mark his maiden appearance for the Selecao’s senior national team:

And the 20-year-old, in turn, has since taken to social media, to celebrate an altogether considerable achievement in his fledgling career, courtesy of the following message:

”Inexplicable feeling… Another dream come true”

Gunners talent

Martinelli’s Brazil bow of course comes with the former Ituano talent in the midst of a fine campaign to date.

Since having reestablished himself in the first-team plans of Mikel Arteta in north London, Martinelli has not looked back, on his way to nineteen Premier League appearances, fifteen of which have come in the form of starts.

Across such outings, the young attacker has racked up a none-too-shabby five goals and three assists, though it is his all-round game and relentless efforts off the ball which have seen Martinelli truly endear himself to the Arsenal faithful.

His Brazil bow marks just the latest display of recognition for what is fast developing into a youth revolution at the Emirates under the watch of Arteta, with Martinelli just one of a host of gifted up-and-coming talents leading the Gunners’ charge for a Premier League top-4 berth.
