Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsdale throws down gauntlet to Jordan Pickford ahead of Qatar World Cup
Ramsdale stars for Arsenal
Eyebrows were raised nationwide when Arsenal announced that they had parted with 24 million pounds to bringing Aaron Ramsdale to the club from relegated Sheffield United, but he has already proved far better than many expected.
So easy to see why fans of Arsenal and the clubs he was at before love Aaron Ramsdale. He’s assertive, passionate and he absolutely pings those passes.
It’s too early to judge what he may develop into but not too soon to really like what you see.

With Ramsdale between the posts, Mikel Arteta’s side are yet to lose a game, while he has conceded just 4 goals in six games, making several brilliant stops in the process and condeming former no.1 Bernd Leno firmly to the substitutes bench.
Shot-Stopper reveals World Cup 2022 target
Speaking to the London Evening Standard, Aaron Ramsdale revealed the pride he felt being part of the England squad for Euro 2020, and the buzz around the camp, saying:
“The next thing you know, I’m in the squad, I’m fully part of it and it was some of the best weeks of my life!
“I keep saying it was a great lad’s holiday! That’s just the team spirit we had, and we were just a few kicks away from achieving something great.
For Aaron, however, the taste of being in the squad just added more motivation to chase a starting berth for Gareth Southgate’s side, however, with the Arsenal no.1 revealing:
“It’s just added momentum and hunger to do well in the World Cup and hopefully I can be a part of that again and hopefully that’ll be to do with a starting role.”
Ramsdale is yet to make his Three Lions debut, but should he continue to perform for Arsenal, it cannot be too far away.
