Arsenal ‘will make’ January loan swoop for out-of-favour Real Madrid hitman
Word stemming from the European media on Monday suggests that Arsenal are preparing a loan proposal for one of the struggling members of Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid squad.
Gunners on song
The mood on the red half of north London has of course proven a rosy one over recent weeks.
This comes with Arsenal, whilst the likes of rivals Tottenham and Manchester United stutter, in the midst of an altogether impressive resurgence.
Since a trio of successive Premier League defeats to open the season, the Gunners have remained unbeaten across nine outings in all competitions, including a hugely impressive 2-0 win at Leicester City this past weekend.
Singled out for the majority of the praise when it comes to such stellar form have been Mikel Arteta’s defensive troops, with the likes of Aaron Ramsdale, Gabriel Magalhaes and Takehiro Tomiyasu all impressing.
It should be noted, though, that Arsenal’s attacking stars have too begun to click into gear of late, to the tune of two or more goals in six of the club’s last seven fixtures.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Emile Smith Rowe have both begun to find their goalscoring touch once more, whilst Alexandre Lacazette, too, appears to have wrestled back favour with boss Arteta.
Blancos outcast eyed
However, as outlined above, if the latest word doing the rounds in the European media on Monday is anything to go by, then those in a position of power at the Emirates appear far from ready to rest on their laurels.
This comes with fresh attacking reinforcements being eyed and Edu and co.
As per a report from transfer journalist Ekrem Konur, Arsenal are readying a January swoop for Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic.
Serbian international Jovic has endured a start to the season to forget in the Spanish capital, racking up a paltry total of 60 minutes of La Liga playing time across five substitute appearances.
In turn, the Gunners evidently feel as though a loan agreement could be struck with their Real counterparts, featuring an option to buy.
The board at the Bernabeu, for their part, are understood to want around €25 million to part with their struggling hitman.
