Arsenal ‘set to move’ for two Juventus stars in January

Word stemming from the European media this weekend has pointed towards an imminent Arsenal swoop for two struggling Juventus stars.

Gunners on the up

Recent weeks, of course, have seen the mood on the red half of north London begin to take on an increasingly positive tone.

This comes with Mikel Arteta’s troops in the midst of a timely upturn in form.

After bouncing back from a hugely disappointing defeat at Everton courtesy of successive downings of Southampton and West Ham, the Gunners made the trip to Elland Road yesterday evening, for their latest Premier League outing.

And, when all was said and done, the upturn being enjoyed by Arsenal only continued, en route to an eventual 4-1 triumph.

The capital giants, in turn, have climbed a full four points clear of the rest of the top-4 chasing pack in the English top-flight (albeit with those below them boasting games in hand).

Bianconeri pair eyed

But, as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media on Sunday is anything to go by, then, evidently, Mikel Arteta and co. are not ready to rest on their laurels.

This comes amid suggestions that the transfer chiefs at the Emirates are readying swoops for not one, but two new players in January.

The duo are currently plying their trade in Italy with Juventus, in the form of Dejan Kulusevski and Arthur.

Both Swedish attacker Kulusevski and midfield conductor Arthur have endured indifferent campaigns to date, with the latter in particular having struggled for game-time amid Massimiliano Allegri’s ranks in the middle of the park.

In turn, as per Spanish outlet Marca, Arsenal are preparing winter offers for both, with the Gunners understood to have already made contact regarding Kulusevski, whom they would be willing to fork out around 29.5 million euros plus add-ons for.

In the case of Arthur, Mikel Arteta has expressed interest in the gifted Brazilian’s signing owing to Thomas Partey’s imminent departure for the African Cup of Nations.
