Arsenal eyeing a striker?
The Gunners currently have a number of attacking options on their books. However, the majority could certainly be improved upon.
Alexandre Lacazette has been used as Arsenal’s main no.9 under Mikel Arteta. But the Frenchman’s form is often inconsistent. He is also 30 and, most importantly, out of contract next summer.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is another experienced option at centre-forward, but he generally performs best on the left-wing.
This leaves the inexperienced trio of Eddie Nketiah, Gabriel Martinelli and Folarin Balogun, with Nketiah also out of contract in the summer.
As a result, it was not too surprising to see it reported earlier this year that the Gunners will try to sign a forward in the winter window, and that the position will be prioritised over bringing in a new midfielder.
Now, more recent reports have suggested that the north Londoners are ‘determined’ to strengthen in the centre-forward spot in the upcoming transfer window.

Arsenal linked with Alexander Isak
Now, amid fresh claims Arsenal are eyeing a striker, a La Liga star has been linked this week.
Alexander Isak has impressed with both Real Sociedad and Sweden, netting 39 and assisting six in 104 outings for his current club despite still only being 22 years of age.
Now, as per Euro Sport:
Arsenal are a particularly interesting option for Isak, who is keen to move to England but wants to see a clear path to regular first team football.
No potential fee is mentioned in the report. But given he is only 22 and already impressing at a high level, it does look as though Isak could be a very solid option to succeed Lacazette.
