Arsenal loanee speaks out on end of season plans following loan move
Arsenal defender Pablo Mari has revealed that he would like to stay in the Serie A when his loan spell with Udinese ends this summer, all but confirming that he is set to leave the Gunners in the upcoming window.
Mari has become a mainstay at the heart of the Udine club, appearing in every game that he has been eligible for in the Italian top flight since his January loan move.

And despite having a contract for a further two years at the Gunners, Mari revealed that he has no wish to return to the Emirates this summer, and would rather spend another season with Udinese if possible.
“I’d like to stay in Serie A next season’, the Spaniard told Italian outlet Gazzetta Dello sport. ‘I’m under contract until June 2024 with Arsenal – but I’m so happy here at Udinese.’
He is a firm favourite with his teammates too, Udinese goalkeeper Marco Silvestri telling 101 that he believed the centre back could become a vital cog in the Udinese machine.
‘Pablo is a very good defender. I think he’s got good experience and a good personality too’, the former Leeds United shot-stopper claimed.’He could be a very important player for us.’
Arsenal to replace him with Serie A defender?
The Gunners could be boosted by the return of William Saliba after a brilliant spell at Marseilles on loan, but would still be on the hunt for cover at left centre-back, especially if they are playing European football of any kind next season.
And one man that they could turn their attentions to is Torino centre-back Bremer, whose performances have caught the eye of Europe’s elite clubs already this season.

Whether or not the story, first published by Tuttomercato, has any substance to it, is another matter. However, if Arsenal’s defensive options were Saliba and Bremer alongside Gabriel and Ben White, they would rank among the best centre back rotation options in the division.
