Mikel Arteta sanctioned the sale of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in January, while both Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah will be out of contract this summer. At this time, there are no plans to offer Lacazette a new deal, while Eddie Nketiah is refusing to sign any deal offered.

This has led to reports surrounding a whole host of strikers, including Alexander Isak, Jonathan David and Dusan Vlahovic, who ultimately ended up heading to Juventus in Janaury.

However, two new names have now entered the fray, in the form of Robert Lewandowski and Paulo Dybala.

Robert Lewandowski is under contract at Bayern Munich until 2023, but talks over a new deal have not yet been successful, and he told media outlets at the end of February that

‘I am open to everything. I’m quiet.

‘It is important for me to be able to focus on my game, always on what can happen in the last match.

‘Everything that remains to be done regarding contracts is a secondary issue and remains in the background.’

This has led to speculation surrounding his future, with FourFourTwo linking the Gunners with a potential spectacular swoop for the Polish marksman.

Dybala set to walk for free?

Meanwhile, Arsenal have also been linked with a move for Paulo Dybala by the same outlet. They report that Arteta and Edu could pip north London rivals Tottenham to the post over the Argentine, who is out of contract this summer and has yet to agree fresh terms with Juventus.

They will face potential issues, however, as they face competition not simply from Tottenham, but reportedly from Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United alike.
