Arsenal lining up summer move for Armando Broja

Arsenal have been credited with an interest in Chelsea striker Armando Broja, who is currently on loan at Southampton.

According to Goal citing, Arsenal are lining up a summer move for Chelsea striker Armando Broja.

No potential transfer fee or whether or not Chelsea would actually entertain offers for the forward is mentioned in the report.

And, when asked if Broja will get a chance back at Chelsea next season, earlier in the current campaign, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel remained rather coy: “He is our player and he is doing good. But at the same time it is only half a season. He needs to continue to improve and to make his statement at Southampton.

“We have a reason why they are our players. They have quality, they have mentality and now they are out there on their own in different environments, different clubs and proving themselves. “Armando is getting better and better. He is a very unique player with very unique strengths in his game – his speed and robustness. And he is a goalscorer.

“First of all, now is not the moment to discuss about the summer. Now is the moment for him to stay calm and keep on improving.”

Does Broja to Arsenal make sense?

If Alexandre Lacazette leaves Arsenal in the summer when his contract expires, the Gunners will need a new no.9.

Whether that man could be Broja at such a young age remains to be seen as with Arsenal’s European ambitions, they really need someone who is already at the top of their game and very experience, something Broja is not.

But the 20-year-old would still likely be a solid addition to Arsenal’s side, even if he does end up playing back-up to a big-money addition or Lacazette if he signs a new deal.
